Applicant Insight (Ai) utilizes Personally Identifying Information (PII) that is provided by consumers to conduct background screening services. Ai is committed to safeguarding sensitive information and protecting the privacy and identity of the individuals who are screened through our services. Ai recognizes and understands the concern for security given the current magnitude of identity theft in our country. Ai’s privacy and security policies work hand in hand to protect personal information.
Credentialing of Vendors & Clients
Applicant Insight has a stringent credentialing process in place to ensure that the companies and individual’s who we engage in a business with have acceptable practices relating to information handling based on Ai’s values, business model and stringent practices. Numerous pieces of information must be provided in advance of any company utilizing our services or engaging as a vendor. Our compliance department then confirms the validity of each piece of information. In cases where a consumer credit report or other credit bureau data is desired by our client, a physical inspection of the business premises is required as well as meeting the requirements of a security checklist. In the course of business, Applicant Insight must collect certain pieces of information to be used in connection with conducting a background check.
Employee Screening
All Ai employees must undergo both a background check and drug test. Ai policy requires that any individual with access to Ai’s secured facility must be adequately screened. Employees with access to sensitive information are made aware of Ai’s confidentially practices and must agree to uphold our stringent policies pertaining to the handling and safeguarding of information. Individuals who have not been screened by Ai, are only allowed access to our facilities by advance appointment and are escorted at all times while onsite.
Consumer Authorization & Voluntary Submission of Information
In order to process a background check, Applicant Insight, must collect certain pieces of information that will be used solely for legitimate, non-discriminatory purposes.
The background checks that AI performs are initiated ONLY AFTER the consumer has authorized, in advance, the specific searches to be performed utilizing personal information that has been provided knowingly and voluntarily. For certain searches, personal information may be provided to 3rd parties for the sole purpose of performing these authorized checks. Third parties may include credit bureaus, city, county, state and federal agencies as well as business partners who have been credentialed and approved by Ai’s credentialing and compliance department and found to uphold our stringent policies pertaining to information security.
AI does not provide information submitted for any purpose other than conducting the background check at a point in time for which permission has been granted unless otherwise permitted by authorization from the individual.
Security
Ai has taken exceptional care in the development of our physical security, internal processes and systems to ensure that sensitive information remains secure.
Ai’s system implements several layers of Security Features that are designed to ensure confidentiality and integrity of applicant and client data. These layers are a combination of industry proven concepts and industry standard software.
Ai’s system utilizes a User ID / password paradigm for web access, as described in Ai’s Security Policy. Data transfers, which encompass web based requests and responses or actual data files fall under the HTTP / SSL industry requirements. All unauthorized server and network intrusion attempts are prevented by an industry standard vendor IDS (Intrusion Detection System) solution. Data files that are transferred to and from Ai’s Servers are scanned by industry standard virus defense software. Ai’s Security Policy further outlines our efforts pertaining to security. Certain details of Ai’s security policy may be disclosed provided that the information disclosure is for a legitimate purpose and does not compromise security.

AI may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law if such action is necessary to conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process.
